LigimeX ("we", "us", "our") operates the LigiLearn software and this website. This policy explains what information we collect, why, where it is kept and what choices you have. Institutes using LigiLearn remain the owners of the data they enter; we process it on their behalf.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Contact details when you request a demo or register: name, mobile number, email, institute name and city.
- Institute data entered by authorised users: classes, batches, fee structures, timetables and settings.
- Student data: name, class, roll number, date of birth, guardian details, attendance, results and fee records.
- Staff data: name, designation, contact details and, where the payroll module is used, salary details.
- Payment references for online fee collection. Card and bank details are handled by the payment gateway and never stored on our servers.
Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser and device type.
- Pages visited and actions performed, used for security auditing and to improve the product.
- Cookies required for sign-in and preferences (see section 6).
2. How we use your data
- Providing the service: running your institute's records, generating reports, sending the alerts you configure.
- Support: answering your questions and resolving issues.
- Improving LigiLearn: understanding how features are used so we can build better ones.
- Communication: important service notices, new features and, if you opt in, offers.
- Legal compliance: where applicable law requires it.
We never sell your data, and we never use student data for advertising.
3. Where data is stored
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers located in India that follow industry-standard security practices.
- Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
- Backups are taken daily so that data is never lost.
- Only authorised LigimeX engineers can access the servers, and every access is logged.
4. Security
- Encryption: all traffic between your browser and LigiLearn is encrypted.
- Password protection: passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text; accounts lock after repeated failed sign-ins.
- Access control: role-based permissions mean every user sees only what their role allows.
- Audit logs: changes to important records are logged with who made them and when.
- Reviews: we carry out periodic security reviews of the platform.
No system is completely secure. If a security incident affects your data, we will inform you promptly and explain what happened and what we are doing about it.
5. Special protection for student data
Student data is sensitive, especially for minors. We treat it with additional care:
- Student records are visible only to the institute's authorised staff and to the student's own guardians.
- Student data is never used for marketing or profiling.
- Parents and guardians can view and request corrections to their child's data through the institute.
- When an institute stops using LigiLearn, its student data is deleted on request.
- We do not share student data with any third party without the institute's instruction.
7. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to deliver the service:
- Razorpay for online fee payments. Razorpay is PCI-DSS compliant and handles card and bank details directly; we receive only the payment reference and status.
- SMS, email and WhatsApp gateways for notifications you configure. Only the recipient's contact details and the message content are shared, over encrypted connections.
- Cloud hosting in India for storage and backups.
Each provider has its own privacy policy. We choose providers carefully and limit what they receive to what the service needs.
8. Your rights
- Access: ask what data we hold about you or your institute.
- Correction: have inaccurate information corrected.
- Deletion: ask for your data to be deleted (see section 9).
- Portability: export your institute's data in a standard format.
- Marketing opt-out: stop promotional messages at any time.

9. Deletion and retention
If your institute stops using LigiLearn and wants all data removed:
- Email info@ligimex.in with the subject "Data deletion request" from an authorised account.
- We verify the request for your protection.
- All data is permanently deleted within 30 days of verification, except records we must retain by law, such as payment records, which are kept only for the legally required period.
Otherwise we retain data for as long as your account is active. After account closure, data is deleted within 90 days unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.
10. Children
LigiLearn is used by institutes and their authorised staff. We do not collect information directly from children. Data about minor students is entered by the institute with the consent of parents or guardians, obtained as part of the institute's admission process.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes are announced by email or an in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when the policy was last revised.
